British Army Scottish Regiment Tam O'Shanter
Grading Explained
We sell both new and used military goods.
Used items
Used kit comes directly from military surplus and is graded as follows:
- Super Grade — Unissued or unused condition. The item is like new, but may not include its original packaging.
- Grade 1 — Previously issued and lightly used. Fully functional and ready for immediate use.
- Grade 2 — Heavier signs of use. Still serviceable, but may have visible defects such as small rips, stains, or minor damage to zips or fastenings.
New items
All new stock is sourced from suppliers worldwide and arrives factory-new, usually in original packaging.
The Tam o’ Shanter is the traditional Scottish military headdress historically worn by several regiments and units of the British Army. Made from heavy wool in a distinctive flat, round design, it is typically worn with a regimental cap badge and coloured hackle or backing where applicable. Combining practicality with centuries of Scottish military heritage, the Tam o’ Shanter remains one of the most recognisable and enduring items of dress in the modern British Army.
