British Army GORE-TEX Olive Bivvy Bag

A nice bivvy and used on my first DD trap setup, was nice to see it had the persons name inside who owned it. Only problem was no draw cord but easy sorted out.

First thing the parcel arrived in two days, standard post 48 hr.the bag is in immaculate condition searched and found a slight scuff about the size of a penny, it was a grand 1 so I would imagine that a super grade would be wrapped in silk with a bow on it.excelent piece of kit paired with a suitable s bag I would happily use it in any condition that the weather could give, pack size is excellent and wight no problem.open size 9 longer than my house bed, it's a no brainer.

Kept me dry and windproof, need i say more?.

I wanted a genuine British Army bivvie bag for extra protection for my sleeping bag. Reluctantly, I had to surrender my issue one when I retired from the Army; I recall how effective it was! GoArmy advertised this item and I ordered one, receiving it very quickly. It was well packed and in excellent condition, despite being described as 'Grade 1' quality. I am very satisfied.

So far, it’s been doing me very well. Only complaint I have is the waterproofing tape on the inside of the seams where falling off when it arrived, so I had some minor fixes. Overall, very happy with it for the price

I got this bag in a sale. Two tiny blemishes that should make no difference to its weatherproofing are all that I could find as evidence of this bag's previous life. Its intended users' specifications and delivered condition give me confidence that it will function well as part of a lightweight cycle touring rig. It has ample room for a mat and sleeping bag. Great value product and service by Go Army.

I snapped up a goretex bivvy in the bf sale, very speedy delivery and the bivvy looks perfect, can't wait to get out with it once I get a mo!

Brillaint and waterproof, two small patches well glued,stitched and still watertight,slight musty smell, but it'll be washed with Nikwax waterproofer anyway, on time and well packaged, thanks again GoArmy

Not had a chance to try it out yet, but fits well with the British army arctic sleeping bag. If used this way make sure it is the one with the centre draw cord and gusset due to the centre zip of the sleeping bag, the type with the draw cord to the right makes it difficult or impossible for me to operate.

The bivi is in excellent condition, exactly as described. I ordered the older green version, and even with the cost of shipping to the US, it is a bargain.

Wanted a breathable bivvy to go with my Carinthia sleep system. Ideally I would have liked the Dutch army Goretex bivvy, but unfortunately it was sold out. So this was my 2nd choice, (well 3rd given I’d’ve bought a Carinthia GT bivvy if I was a millionaire!)
So Pros:
It works well. Used in the garden on a foggy, dew heavy night and it was dry inside and had no condensation on my Defence 4.
Cons:
It’s a real pain to get into! The only opening is through the hood! There is no opening on the side. No zips. No press studs. No Velcro. Just a VERY LONG shoelace pull-cord to tighten and loosen the opening. So it’s a good job the opening is huge! But then given that the Defence 4 is centre zip opening and the Tropen is side zip opening you end up having to wiggle and jiggle your way into it and out of it. Okay on a garden deck, but I bet not so much fun wild camping when you need to pee in the middle of the night! But I guess we’ll see.

TBH I feel slightly cheated. The photo description looks like it has a centre zip opening and although I do agree that the written description has no mention of a zip or side opening of any kind, I confess I went by the photos. So when it arrived and I saw it was essentially a large sack, my heart sunk slightly. Another concern I have too is that there is no label on the bivvy to prove it is in fact Goretex, which I find strange, since it’s a registered trademark. (Perhaps one of you guys could explain the omittance..?)

But in summary, for the price it’s a bargain. It’s Goretex. Right? Having used it in heavy precipitous weather, it works and I remained dry and warm. Would I buy another? Probably not. I’ll hold out for the Dutch army one.

I have had a number of fishing sleeping bags at double the price of the sleep system, and I have to say my new sleeping system is absolutely miles better than any other bag I’ve had. The bag came super quick and everything was in really good condition, 100% happy. Will definitely be buying more stuff from go army.

Ordered the army black deployment bergen - and had all the reviews about goarmy and the kit they supply - but I’m still always sceptical. However, I needn’t have been. Arrived the day after ordering, even the delivery company knocked the door instead of just leaving it outside in the rain !!! Well packaged and although there is one small scuff, the Bergen is in great condition. It’s made from super tough cordorua and there are lots of tensioning straps to make sure everything inside will be kept compact. Very, very sturdy. Very pleased. Thanks

Bought a used british army coat,ordered Sunday arrived Wednesday and its great.Like new and great quality especially when it cost only 22 quid.

I haven't had a chance to use this yet after a few months of hot dry summer but it's clean and tidy, and looks to be in good condition. I'm sure it will do the job when the time comes...
