Vintage British Army 1980's GS Bergen
Grading Explained
We sell both new and used military goods.
Used items
Used kit comes directly from military surplus and is graded as follows:
- Super Grade — Unissued or unused condition. The item is like new, but may not include its original packaging.
- Grade 1 — Previously issued and lightly used. Fully functional and ready for immediate use.
- Grade 2 — Heavier signs of use. Still serviceable, but may have visible defects such as small rips, stains, or minor damage to zips or fastenings.
New items
All new stock is sourced from suppliers worldwide and arrives factory-new, usually in original packaging.
The early-issue British Army GS Bergen is a rugged Cold War-era rucksack built for carrying heavy loads over long distances. Made from heavy-duty olive green nylon, it features a large main compartment with three fixed front pouches, a steel frame, and a straightforward webbing harness system. Designed for reliability rather than comfort, this iconic bergen is now highly sought after by bushcrafters, hikers, and military surplus collectors who appreciate its bomb-proof construction and classic military design.
